Switchyards is looking for an early-career Full Stack Engineer to help build and maintain the systems that power our member experience and internal operations. This role works closely with our Data & Systems Engineer to develop app features, integrate third-party platforms, and support the internal tools that keep the business running smoothly. It’s a hands-on role for someone excited to work across the stack and ship real systems used by both members and internal teams.

What You’ll Do

As a Full Stack Engineer, you’ll work closely with the Data & Systems Engineer and cross-functional teams to build and maintain the systems that power Switchyards’ member experience and internal operations.

You’ll help implement new product features, maintain integrations between platforms, and support the internal tools and data flows that keep the business running smoothly.

This is a hands-on, execution-focused role ideal for an early-career engineer who enjoys working across the stack and contributing to real-world systems used by both members and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Product Development

  • Support the development and maintenance of features within the Switchyards app.
  • Work across front-end and back-end systems to implement new functionality and improve the member experience.
  • Work closely with design and product teams to translate requirements into high-quality user experiences.

Integrations & System Implementation

  • Integrate internal systems with third-party platforms.
  • Write and maintain tests where appropriate to ensure stable product releases.
  • Work within integration patterns and architecture defined by the Data & Systems Engineer.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise across connected systems.

Marketing & Website Engineering Support

  • Partner with the marketing team as needed to build and maintain data pipelines that support analytics and experimentation.
  • Help implement marketing-related integrations and testing infrastructure.
  • Provide light engineering support for website maintenance and updates.

Internal Tools & Operational Systems

  • Maintain and improve internal tools used by operations and leadership teams.
  • Build dashboards, reporting utilities, and operational workflows.
  • Help automate processes and workflows that improve efficiency across the organization.

Quality Assurance

  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues in the Switchyards app and related systems.
  • Reproduce and patch defects.
  • Assist with regression testing and QA to support stable product releases.

Documentation & System Maintenance

  • Document APIs, endpoints, and integration workflows.
  • Maintain runbooks and internal technical documentation.
  • Support monitoring and maintenance of system performance and reliability.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience building responsive component-based user interfaces and translating design into production-ready code.
  • Experience working with modern front-end technologies, including JavaScript/TypeScript and React/React Native.
  • Experience working with Node.js or serverless environments (e.g., Vercel) and integrating front-end applications with back-end APIs.
  • Experience working with APIs and integrations (including REST APIs and webhooks), and platforms such as Stripe.
  • Familiarity with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a small, fast-moving team environment where engineers often work across product, data, and operational systems.
