This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Web Developer based in India.

Are you an experienced automation engineer passionate about infrastructure engineering and scalable technology solutions? This remote opportunity offers the chance to design and implement enterprise-grade automation frameworks using Ansible across complex infrastructure environments. You will play a key role in modernizing IT operations, improving efficiency, and reducing manual workloads through Infrastructure-as-Code practices. Working with cloud platforms and advanced DevOps technologies, you will help establish automation standards and best practices. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with architectural leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration. It is ideal for a seasoned professional looking to drive innovation and operational excellence in a global technology environment.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Ansible playbooks, roles, collections, and inventories across development, staging, and production environments.

  • Build reusable, modular Ansible roles following Galaxy standards and organizational best practices.

  • Develop and maintain Ansible Collections for internal distribution.

  • Create custom Ansible modules and plugins in Python, including action, callback, connection, and lookup plugins.

  • Implement reliable, idempotent, and fault-tolerant automation for operating system hardening, application deployment, configuration management, and cloud provisioning.

  • Integrate Ansible with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps.

  • Implement automated testing frameworks using Molecule, Testinfra, and pytest.

  • Administer Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) and AWX, including organizations, inventories, credentials, projects, templates, and workflows.

  • Apply GitOps practices and manage automation code through Git-based workflows.

  • Define Ansible coding standards, ansible-lint rules, code review practices, and development guidelines.

  • Automate AWS, Microsoft Azure, and GCP environments using Ansible cloud modules and dynamic inventories.

  • Integrate Ansible with Terraform to support hybrid Infrastructure-as-Code workflows.

  • Automate infrastructure patching, compliance enforcement, configuration management, and drift remediation at scale.

  • Manage secrets using Ansible Vault and enterprise secrets-management platforms.

  • Automate CIS Benchmark and STIG-based system hardening and compliance.

  • Review automation code for security vulnerabilities, including hardcoded credentials, insecure configurations, and excessive privilege escalation.

  • Conduct Ansible code reviews, mentor junior and mid-level engineers, and establish automation architecture and development standards.

  • Create architecture documentation, operational runbooks, and onboarding guides.

  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies within the Ansible ecosystem.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on Ansible experience, particularly with Microsoft Azure.

  • Strong experience administering Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) or AWX.

  • Expert understanding of Ansible architecture, including control and managed nodes, static and dynamic inventories, facts, SSH, WinRM, and network CLI connections.

  • Advanced knowledge of Ansible playbook constructs, including handlers, loops, conditionals, blocks, tags, delegation, error handling, and rescue mechanisms.

  • Advanced proficiency in Jinja2 templating, filters, tests, custom filters, and complex data transformations.

  • Strong Python programming skills for scripting and custom Ansible module development.

  • Deep understanding of Ansible roles, including defaults, variables, metadata dependencies, include_role, and import_role.

  • Experience developing and publishing Ansible Collections through Galaxy or private Automation Hub.

  • Knowledge of Ansible performance tuning, including ansible.cfg optimization, forks, pipelining, SSH multiplexing, and callback plugins.

  • Linux administration experience across RHEL, CentOS, and Ubuntu, including networking, systemd, and package management.

  • Strong experience with Git workflows, branching strategies, pull requests, and tagging.

  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Ansible Kubernetes modules.

  • Experience with Ansible Vault and enterprise secrets-management solutions.

  • Experience with CI/CD tools, automated testing frameworks, and infrastructure automation practices.

  • Excellent technical leadership, mentoring, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on automation architecture, security, and operational efficiency.

  • Ability to create technical documentation, enforce coding standards, and guide engineering teams toward best practices.

  • Experience with Event-Driven Ansible (EDA), AWX, and Receptor is considered an advantage.

Benefits:

  • Work arrangement: Remote opportunity.

  • Location: India, with listed locations including Gurugram and Pune.

  • Employment type: Full-time.

  • Professional growth: Opportunity to work with advanced enterprise automation technologies and cloud infrastructure.

  • Technical exposure: Hands-on experience with Ansible, Azure, AWS, GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD platforms.

  • Leadership opportunities: Scope to mentor engineers and influence automation architecture and engineering standards.

  • Career development: Opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure modernization and DevOps initiatives.
